Our Annual Fall Camping

Although I wish I could have stayed longer with Mom in Pennsylvania, the boys needed to get back to school.  They were only allowed 5 days for travel.  It was especially frustrating since they only had school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the next week before fall break gave them two more days off.

However, coming back when we did allowed us to keep our fall tradition of going camping with friends.  The boys always look forward to it and I hated to miss it even though I my heart wasn’t altogether up for it.  As it turned out, it was good for all of us.  :)

My husband and I came down with a nasty cold.  It’s not exactly fun to be camping with a hacking cough and no voice.  But the boys stayed healthy and had a great time.

Greta, of course, loved every minute of being with us.  collage_20131020112040076

The kids did their best to spoil her into thinking she was a lap dog.   :)

I was really glad the stable had some hay available.  It cut down on the mud around the site and made it seem like a giant hey ride.  :)

Pumpkin carving is always fun.  I love to walk around the campground and see all the pumpkin carvings and Halloween decorations.  We had several owls, a bat…

I think my oldest was dreaming of his future car, lol!

It was a nice fall break!

Tonight’s trick or treating for most communities has been postponed due to the big storm.  So the little guy will have to wait till tomorrow night.  It’s a soup and movie kind of night.

What will you be doing today?

I'm so glad you were able to do this. The pumpkins turned out great! It's supposed to really storm here too and some communities have postponed trick or treating, but ours is on.
