One Way Love

I recently started reading One Way Love by Tullian Tchividjian, released October 1.  Although I had to put it aside when I left for Dad’s funeral, what I read of it was really good, and I think you would like it.imageIn One way Love, Tchividjian offers a fresh encounter with God’s unshakeable grace.

imageTchividjian is the Senior Pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  He is also the grandson of Billy and Ruth Graham and the author of six books; including the best seller, Jesus + Nothing = Everything.

Since everything about our society is performance based, we are constantly reminded of our failures.  Thankfully, the good news and completion of the gospel does not hinge on our own ability.  Rather, our failures serve to highlight the extent of God’s grace.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is this:

The Gospel is not a command to hang on to Jesus.  It’s a promise that no matter how weak your faith and how unsuccessful your efforts may be, God is always holding on to you.  In this light, Life is simply the chronicle of God’s successes perfectly meeting our failures. (p.211)

Isn’t that cool?

I have always enjoyed reading Billy Graham's books, so I hope his grandson can live up to my expectations! Ha, ha.
