Our Visit Home

Over spring break, we made a trip east to visit with Mom and Dad.  We arrived just in time to celebrate his 73rd birthday along with his siblings and their families.   He had NO idea we all were coming and it was wonderful to be able to surprise him!  It was also great to catch up with some of my extended family--many of whom I hadn’t seen in years.

There were tears, of course.  But there was plenty of laughter as well!

The whole gang.   It is such a wide picture, I’m going to try letting it hang over the field and see what happens. :)

My parents are sitting behind me.  My (only) brother is standing with his wife in the center of the picture.   He continues to be a tremendous support to Mom and Dad, as does my nephew, (standing, far left).   I’m so thankful for them!

And in case you were wondering…that’s some kind of battle ax NERF thingy in my little guy’s hands.  Each of the boys got one on the trip out.  Apparently, every boy must have one.

DSC_0155There were times I just had to close the curtains and walk away from the window, lol!

We got home safe and sound Friday evening.

Dad is scheduled for another round of chemo next Thursday, April 11th  .  Knowing what happened after the first round, we are praying he is strong enough to tolerate it and that he would be able to remain at home.

On behalf of my family, thank you so much for your love and prayers!  You have been such an encouragement!

I am so glad you all had a good trip. And to have so much family there made it all the better, I'm sure.
I'll keep praying for the next round.
And I will not be showing the photo of your boys with the battle axes to my boys. No need to get them wishing for those! We have enough weapons of destruction around here. :)

I'm glad you were able to be home for a visit and got to see some extended family too. Loved the pictures!

What a blessing to be together! And I smiled about your walking away from the window -- I have to do that sometimes, too!
