A Few Of The Other Pictures I Took When I was Putting The Package Together For Mom and Dad

If you have kids, you know that you have to take BUNCHES of pictures in order to find at least one good one.  These are a few of the ones that didn’t make it into the book I sent.

In fact, out of the ones I took in the first sitting, not one was usable!  Notice the grey shirt that looks like it came straight from the (floor of the) closet.  And the dog’s tongue.  Not to mention a little bed head, lol!

Even the dog was bored with the process!  I’m pretty sure that’s a yawn she’s sporting.

So after I had a look at the first set, I ordered a few changes.  Different shirt.  Shampooed heads.  NO Knee socks.

However, it was a brisk 50 degrees and that pavement was cold, lol!

Cold feet

Here, they are telling me, “Hurry UP!”  If they hadn’t insisted on wearing SHORTS, they probably would have been just fine.

sore toe And here Greta made the mistake of stepping on the middle man’s nail-less toe.  It was hard not to laugh when every time I snapped I caught another wacky expression on one of them!

I wanted to include a picture of my parents from their visit.  I know Mom and Dad rarely develop any of his digital takes from his camera.  And I liked this one.  Only, the gorilla masked child behind the sofa seemed distracting to me, along with the messy desk, etc.

So I worked with Pixler Express, an Android Application, to blur the edges.  Then I used Paint Shop Pro 8 to edit out the background distractions.  I’m happy with how it came out, and they loved it!

What do you rely on for your photo editing?  I’m always looking to try new things!

Update on Dad:  He was admitted to the hospital this week and his white blood cell count is at .4, barely enough to register.  The meds to bring that number up have yet to make a difference and he spiked a fever towards the end of the week.  Apparently there is an infection in his blood and doctors are pumping him full of fluids and antibiotics.  We take one day at a time.  Your prayers are SO appreciated!!

Why do boys try to wear shorts all winter long? Every time we leave the house, I have to send them all up to put pants on.
Your boys are awesome, and that Greta is so pretty.
Prayers haven't stopped.

Ha. Your boys do the I-insist-on-wearing-shorts-in-the-dead-of-winter thing too? Nice to know I'm not the only one dealing with that. Or for that matter, with the crazy difficulty of getting a "good" picture of my offspring. : )

I usually use Picasa for my photo editing. It's free and user friendly. And it has quite a nice set up for collage-making.

<3 I'm praying for your family. I hope your dad's white blood cell count increases quickly and that he does not become even more sick because of his compromised immune system.

I loved the pictures - those boys make me laugh and I know just seeing them has to be good medicine for your Dad.
I use Picasa for my photo editing - easy and free works for me!
Praying for your Dad - that they can control the infection and that his white count goes up.
