Indiana does not typically get much snow. We’re lucky if we get a few inches once or twice a year. During those snows, My husband and I crack ourselves up over the newscasters calling it “heavy” snow. Don’t forget, we hail from the northeast, where a good nor'easter can dump several feet. That’s a snow.
So when newscasters around here began calling for a blizzard the day after Christmas, my husband and I looked at each other and smiled. Imagine our delight when we actually got about a foot!
I didn’t actually go out and measure, and it blew around so much, I’m not sure how accurate it could have measured anyway. But it was an awesome snow!
My husband didn’t have to go to work. The kids were off. There was nothing to do but play with our Christmas toys and watch it snow. I’m telling you, it was a gift from God. :)
By afternoon, we ventured out to shovel for the first of several times. That’s when we found out the man we usually have plow our road, was not going to be able to do it. And no one else was available. Thankfully, my Hubby was able to open things up with his loader.
The snow was sticking to everything, even my Hubby!
There were numerous snow fights in between the shoveling.
I didn’t see what my little guy did that he had him running for his life in the picture below. Lol!
He pretty much always looked like this, though.
In fact, at one point, I did a double take when I saw this.
Who needs a plow when you have a perfectly good head!
Greta liked the snow. However, several months ago, we were told that she has a congenital defect that limits her mobility. She can get around when she needs to, but too much running will cause her pain later. The vet hasn’t been able to do anything to help her. So we try to limit her play. Made me a little sad for her not to give her more time out there.
But we love her anyway! And there is always somebody willing to give her a lift when she reaches the end of what she can tolerate. :)
The next day, we played in the snow all day long. I’ll be sorting out the pictures of what we made, next. Hopefully I’ll get some posted tomorrow.

Do you still have that snow, or has it melted away now?

I can't believe you had that much snow. We have had way less than normal.
Snow days are great when no one has to get out in them. I loved the pictures.
We were supposed to come home from Ohio on the day after Christmas, but with the blizzard warnings decided to come home Christmas night. We made it back 4 hours before the beautiful snow started falling. So glad we did. Wednesday was a super day with everyone stuck at home.
Really, he made that line with his head??? Your boys crack me up.
Keetha, we still have several inches covering most of the ground and lots more where it has been plowed, of course. But I suspect with the warmer weather and rain they are predicting, a lot of it will melt away. It sure has been a fun snow, though!
