Family Movie DVD Giveaway!

Who doesn’t love a film about overcoming challenges?

Dean Cain and Luke Schroder star in this movie based on the book "The Legend of Mickey Tussler".

My Quick Take:

A baseball coach on the hunt for a new pitcher happens upon a farm boy named Mickey with an unbelievable arm.  He is convinced that this boy can turn his team’s losing streak around.  But Mickey and his family aren’t so sure.  The trouble?  Mickey has Asperger’s Syndrome and his parents (specifically, his father) must come to grips with letting him out from under their overbearing and overprotective care.  It’s a great story!

That said, I did utter a few groans.  Now, I haven’t read the book, so the film directors may be taking their cues right from it’s pages.  However, I found myself cringing at the (unbelievably) harsh and unreasonable behavior of the father.

And in defense of my new home state of Indiana, the kids and I got a chuckle over the stereotyping of Indiana’s farming population.  Don’t get me wrong!  I totally used to be guilty of the same thing!  In fact, I thought there were pig farms on every corner!  Lol!  However, I know better now.  We did laugh out loud though at the area the coach got lost in.  We wandered around the same area on the way to a soccer game once, adding a whole hour to our trip!

And I’m not at all sure what the title has to do with the story, Lol!  I think I must have missed something.  Have you seen the film?  Did you catch it?

Still, it’s a fun movie, and definitely family friendly.  If you’d like to win a copy of the DVD so you can share it with your family and critique it for yourself, here is your chance!

On Friday, I’ll be choosing one lucky reader from the comments on this post to receive a brand new copy of the DVD!   So leave a comment before the end of the day on Thursday and be sure I have a way to contact you should your number be chosen.   The only rule is that you must be a resident of the United States.

Good luck!!

Just added:  Mari at My Little Corner Of The World is also giving away a copy of this DVD.  So leave a comment at her place for another chance to win!

Fine Print:  I received a free DVD copy of A Mile In His Shoes to review.  However, when I agree to do a review, I share what I really think, whether good or bad.  I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”
