Arctic Winter Blast Apparel

Every one needs something special to enjoy the arctic blast.

Did you ever have a soldier shovel your drive for you?  How about two of them?  With guns.  This is a first for me.  But there was something very reassuring about their guns.  Like, maybe, their orange tips.

Arctic blast preparednessThe soldiers came in handy, too.  And not just because of their young strong backs.  Arctic blast preparedness 3

A bad guy with an oozy showed up before the job was halfway done!  And he was determined to start trouble.

Arctic blast preparedness 4There were lots of scary moments where I thought my hard working soldiers were going to take a hit.Arctic blast preparedness 2

Lucky for me, all survived and lived to eat pizza for lunch.

And me?  I shoveled, too.  Though my forty-something-year-old back won’t be the same for a week or two.

But it’s nothing a little R and R with a heating pad won’t cure.  In my favorite reading chair.  With a good book.  And my own perfectly normal arctic winter blast apparel.

Yep.  Those are WOOL socks with my handy dandy flip flops.

And peeking out from below my pant legs?  My handy-dandy 1980’s leg warmers.

I’m sparing my boys from seeing me wear them like they truly should be worn (over the bottom of my pant legs).

But I will NOT give up my flip flops.

That's a lot of snow. Glad you had some military assist!
How can you stand those flip flops over socks? Makes my feet hurt to look at it!

Those were some great soldiers!! Looks like they had a lot of fun! I also love your winter attire. Something always told me to keep my leg warmers, they would be perfect for this weather, I may have to see if I still have them! My boys would really love to see those!

Wow! It looked like they were doing a fabulous job on the snow! I'm so impressed!

Although, I have to admit, I feel chilly after I read your post.

Hahaha...You are so delightful. I enjoy your blog SO much. Perhaps it's because of your viewpoint as a mom of boys who is still at home with her femininity but who isn't too FRU-fru. : )

I'm glad to see I'm not the only socks and flip flop mom out there! BTW - there's nothing wrong with leg warmers! I wish I still had mine! ;)

You are so funny! Those flip flops are hilarious, but I too know the importance of unstylish leg warmers. Would you believe the only "pair" I have right now are cut from the arms of an old sweater?

Your soldiers and their enemy are cute.
