Saving Up Our Snowsuits!

Toasty inside

When it snows, don’t you just love standing at the window and watching the flakes fall?  We love the views from our sunroom.  The deer like to hang out back there near the woods.

Last year, in weather such as yesterday’s, the boys would have needed their flannel lined jeans, or even a snow suit to be in this room.  If they had friends over and wanted to play LEGO’s in there, I had to remind them to bring extra warm clothes.  And bring a hat.  And maybe even some gloves.

You know, it’s not easy to play LEGO’s when you’re wearing gloves.

After replacing the doors, and adding insulation over the main house, snow gear in the sunroom is now a thing of the past!!

And boy is it nice!

Yesterday, while the wind was howling and the snow was flying, my little guy and I were able to watch from the sunroom in our PJ’s and stocking feet! As we watched, I was stuck by how fortunate we are.

God has always provided everything we’ve needed.  Whether it was extra warm clothes for our inefficient house, fire wood for our stove, or simply good friends understand and laugh with us about it.

But, today, I just wanted to say…

Thanks, God, for helping us to make these small improvements to the home you’ve given us.  It wasn’t absolutely necessary.  But it sure is nice.

Now, we can save our snowsuits for the white Christmas we’re all hoping for!

We were very blessed this year to be able to have our (very old, very cold in winter) house insulated. The weather has really turned cold in the last week or two, and I have been SO very grateful for that insulation! I can't believe what a difference it makes. God is good!

Stopping by from ATWT. We just moved back north from FL, so getting accustomed to the cold again. Today I think is the worst, very windy.

What a view you have! It snowed in Texas last week and I joked that I felt like we were in a snow globe. It's a wonderful feeling to be reminded of our blessings and how He is always working in our lives. Merry Christmas!

I LOVE the view from your sunroom!!!! Our house backs up to the woods, and after 14 years of living there I still love the simple beauty of watching the snow fall also! So glad it's nice and toasty in there for your boys this year!! :)
