Why is it, whenever you step into the shower, your preschooler always needs you?
It never fails, as soon as I get behind the curtain, there is banging on the door. Sometimes it is accompanied by crying. Sometimes yelling.
Today, I heard, “Mommy! Come! The Monkey wants to talk to you!”
Usually, I open the door and he throws the little Screaming Monkey on the floor so that it makes that ear splitting scream. Have you ever seen one of these? If not, count your blessings. (All I can say is, if my brother’s only son wasn’t all grown up, I would be giving him his own arsenal of lovely toys.)
Anyway, the knocking continued all the way through my shower. All the way through my drying off. And all the way through my dressing.
Any mom of preschoolers knows that it does absolutely no good to tell them to wait.
When I opened the bathroom door, I was, indeed, met by a
MONKEY!
For the record, I have no idea where he got the monkey feet idea!

I've not seen a TOY screaming monkey, though my own monkeys did plenty of screaming!!!
Those glove/feet are HILARIOUS. Bright kid.
BTW - - - even though your nephew is all grown up, you could still give him NOISY toys - - - - drum set, electric guitar, just to mention a couple.
Oh too funny. I love the feet. Very creative! LOL.
I made the mistake of not locking the door one time when I was in the shower and my now 3 year old, then 2, came in and flung back the shower curtain took one look and ran screaming out of the bathroom. That was a real self esteem booster I tell you right now! LOL.
Have a great Friday.

Oh, he's too cute!!
Now that is just tooooooo precious! I love it!
When my niece was little, about 2, she followed Pa-Paw to the bathroom. He shut the door and did whatever he was doing in there. She knocked and said, "Pa-Paw, whatcha doing?" "Kaci, I'm busy. Go play until I finish." He waited a few minutes and heard, "Pa-Paw, I can see your toes!" No peace with toddlers...
That is too funny! I haven't gone to the bathroom without interruption for about 10 years! They always come knocking on the door and now my dog tries it too by scratching at it...what can we say they LOVE mommy!
probably from curious george!!
What an adorable monkey you have there! Happy Friday to you!! Thanks for your kind comments about my blog and I must repay the compliment as I like what I have seen here too so much so that I thing I'll follow along!
Blessings to you ... Happy Easter too!
Hee hee. My kids do monkey feet too, their brains are just hard wired that way.
very funny! (empathize with the why does he have to bang on the door, hurry up before he breaks something, and never having any time to myself--not even to get clean for heaven's sake!)
Here’s my photo story happy Friday!
The feet ar my favorite part! :)
Oh yes - the bathroom is a free-for-all when preschoolers are around... I never realized how much I would value 3 minutes of ALONE time in the bathroom, the very FEW times I can manage it! Being met by a monkey so cute would certainly be the icing on a cake!!!
