The other night, when I saw these daffodils soaking in the late day sun, I couldn’t resist walking out with my camera. Sunset is my very favorite time of day. Everything is more beautiful.
And on a whim, I held the camera beneath the flowers, focused up as best I could, and captured this beautiful shot. I’m not sure what appeals to me about it. But I like it.
Maybe it’s the different perspective. The looking up.
This Easter weekend snuck up on me while I’ve been doing everything BUT looking up. There have definitely been years where my heart has felt more prepared to celebrate this holiday.
In fact, as unlikely as it may seem, the most meaningful Easter I can remember was the Easter which came just days after my father-in-law went home to be with the Lord.
For the entire 12 hour trip home to be with family, I thought about Easter. About resurrection. About the faith of a man I would miss dearly. And about what he must be doing right then in Heaven because Jesus paid the price for him to be there.
I spent a lot of time directing my thoughts upward.
Jesus’ death and resurrection became meaningful in a way it really hadn’t for me yet.
And, now, as I type, and reflect, two thoughts seem stuck in my mind.
First, what about those people who never take the time or get the chance to embrace Easter’s truth in a personal way? Who never embrace what Jesus did or realize the significance it plays in their own eternity?
And second, what would I do differently if I never stopped embracing Easter’s truth? If I never let the urgent distract me from the important? What if I glanced “up” more often along the way?
I’m fairly certain I would be sharing more freely with the people encompassing my first thought.
Happy Easter, everyone! Don’t forget to look up along the way.

I love the picture and I love the way you applied looking up to taking a picture and to life. Very meaningful post!
nice writing on great picture. I also like to take pictures in evening, magic moment.
Oh! I love this. Embracing easter truth. That is something we simply must do. Vital.
Happy Easter Sweetie...
What a beautiful story and yes I do look up. I loved this share and have read through many of your others. I am your newest follower. I found you while blog hopping this morning. So beautiful and elegantly you write.
I love the pizza story with the boys. That was so sweet. Pussy willows, oh my gosh, I have not seen those for years. I live in Phoenix in the desert, but I so remember seeing them. We moved here from Oklahoma. Yep loved it.
I adored my tour with the German sub. How exciting that must have been. If I ever make it to Chicago, that is a definite must see. I love it.
Your header is so precious. Please stop by and say hi. I would love to have you visit, and would be so honored if you followed my blog as well. Happy Easter sweetie. Have a beautiful day with your family. Country hugs...Sherry
