Web Cams Are A Little Bit Scary

When my husband travels overseas, we talk via Windows Live Messenger.  It’s always nice to hear his voice and touch base.

He’s in the Netherlands right now, and tonight he tried out the built-in camera in his company’s laptop.  So we got to SEE him.  :)  Well, kind of.  The picture was pretty dark, and when he used a flashlight to light up his face, it gave his image a horror movie effect.  Lol!

But, still, it inspired my son to grab the UBISOFT webcam which came with a Wii game and hook it to my computer.  Tech savvy we are not.  But amazingly enough, we got it to work!

We then treated my husband to what was likely a very disturbing video feed.

Web Cam With Dad 3

He got to see everything from eyeballs, tonsils and nose hairs…to earwax.

Web Cam With DadAnd I guess next time I should probably shower once or twice while he’s gone, or at least comb my hair before we chat.  Lol!

Web Cam With Dad 2

This web cam thing is amazing.  And scary.  All at the same time.

My husband, btw, will be catching a flight in the morning (his time) and getting home tomorrow night (our time).  I hate it when he’s gone.  We miss him, and seeing him in person will be the finest way we could end this week!  :)

What fun! We use a Webcam to talk to Andy sometimes too. Last year we did our Christmas gifts around it, so he could be part of it while in Korea!

That is EXACTLY what Isaac would do...boys are weird. And cool.

I'm glad your hubby will be home again soon...and that when he's gone you have a webcam so he can see your eyeballs. :)

It is cool technology but scary all the same.
I'm so glad he'll home for you tomorrow! Yeah!

It's nice to see that the old adage "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" is still true. I fear too often these days that we've resorted to "Out of sight, out of mind."

Enjoy your reunion!

I love nostril shot. That's awesome. Webcams have a wonderful way to bring everyone closer despite the distance.

Love the pictures! We used Skype as much as we could when my husband was deployed. Technology is great!

Funny stuff. Skyping can get a little crazy sometimes - especially with my kiddos! So nice that your husband is going to be home this weekend!

Haha great fun webcams! How nice that you were able to "see" each other while he was away traveling.
