Taking Care (or Something) of The Kitties

Waiting for Dinner 3

My youngest son feeds the cats.  As soon as they hear his little steps near the door, they line up.  And follow him everywhere.

Because he is the food man, they overlook a number of issues which any cat with half a brain would take cover from.

Like the times when sticks come hurtling towards them, or when bike wheels race to run over their tails, or pretend guns stalk them from behind every bush.  To them, I suspect, it is just a hazard that comes with staying close to the food source.  waitin for dinner 2

So they take the abuse in stride.

But when they allow a five year old to exhaust an entire can of aerosol bug repellent with sun screen on their little beings, you just have to wonder about their misplaced trust.Cat bath

Giving three cats a bath was not on my to-do list.  And I suspect it wasn’t on their list either.

However, they’ve learned a lesson.

They now don’t come near me.

How sweet. Just love the picture with them waiting by the door.

Great story. What is it with boys and cats and a boy's desire to inflict...adventure upon them? (I have one like that also.)

This post reminds of Dr. DoLittle's Circus which we began reading tonight. In it there is Matt, the Cat's Meat Man.

Blessings on your house! : )

What great photos. I love them all.
I think your little man is lucky to be able to be brought up with animals. I am sure such children grow up with a caring streak and cats are no fools. They don't go to just anybody!
Now why would YOU want to bath a cat!

And poor you for having to bathe them. Yuck!

Ohhh my boys are always ones to keep you on your toes. It's not fair that the follow up crew gets the wrap. [0; I had a little bro that almost carried our cat by the neck but with the two paws barely held too. I was amazed our cat didn't object. lol

Blessings in Him<><

That first shot is something else of them all sitting there.

cats are clever. AND fairly forgiving - when there's food involved!

Oh my gosh! Those poor kitties.

Hilarious! Shows just how forgiving pets are to the hand that feeds them. The hand that washes them...that's another story! LOL

Oh, my! That is sweet and hilarious and kinda sad all at once. I'm sorry you had to go through the experience of bathing all the cats, but it's sweet and hilarious to see the cat's admiration for your son and to hear of his adventures with them.
