This time of year, there are FAR too many spiders hanging around. Their webs are everywhere and it seriously makes me wonder if spiders learned to spin webs as a result of The Fall.
When I mow, I absolutely HATE going under or between trees for fear of picking up a nasty thing across my face. Ack! It makes me shiver just to think about it!
However, this one, busy at work, caught my attention in a ohmygoodnessIamsogladIdidnotwalkintothat!!!!!! kind of way. Seriously, I would have danced a jig-and-a-half and the whole neighborhood would have heard me.
She was absolutely amazing in how quickly she was constructing her perfect web. So amazing, that I went in and got the boys and my camera.
We watched her for a while and I even took some video at the boys’ request.
My oldest had to position himself in one picture (which I’m not showing you) with his mouth wide open so that it looked like the spider was dangling over the cavern. WAY TOO DISTURBING for me! However, it is sure to become his new favorite screen saver. Boys can be such an oddity.
But of the two photos I’m posting, I’m trying to decide which one I like more. I’m just not sure. What do you think?

Boys ARE an oddity! I think they like it that way...
I like BOTH pictures, but the second is my favorite. :)
I like both of them too, and I can see why you'd have a hard time choosing! I do vote for the first one, though. I like how it shows both boys enjoying the fascinating scene together. Plus the spider web pops out more.
I am cracking up over here!!
I love your....
"ohmygoodnessIamsogladIdidnotwalkintothat!!!!!!"
Thanks for the good snort! ;)
I vote for the first shot -- you can see so much of that magnificent web!
I doubt my sister will leave a comment... she hates spiders calls them MONSTERS!
That is a pretty cool web she is constructing. I think I like the one with both boys looking on.
Ugh! I hate spiders! Yup! Hate! I said it and I mean it! LOL
But it seems like it would be such a waste to destroy that beautiful web. Actually I don't mind spiders as long as they remain outside! WHERE THEY BELONG!
I like the first picture by the way because you can see the web better.
Hugs.

ahh shucks, I would have liked to seen the one with the spider dropping into the mouth. Boys are great fun. That was a fun story. Here’s my photo story. happy Friday!
Love the first one, you can see the web so clearly and the expressions on their faces is priceless!
Boys do the craziest things! We have some pretty wild arachnids around here too...I am not brave enough to go that close to them though!
I like the first picture. It shows the most detail of the web and still captures the fasination that your boys had in watching the spider spin her enormous web.
If you'd like to stop by my blog I'm at Cake Crumbs.
YIKES! That is one big, SCARY spider!
Ahhhh . spiders. I think they are very intresting creatures. I alwasy had the idea of how funny it would be it a human pooped out silk. can you imagine that?
